On this project, we were entrusted with retrofit a wire cutting machine. This machine’s working mechanism was updated and several additional features was added, such as an HMI display user interface, additional alarm messages, and a production counter.

The results showed that the machine was able to cut wires within the tolerances accepted by production specifications.

We got another project from another vacuum furnace machine which is one of three SCR heater regulator Controller was broken. This vacuum furnace machine has 3 heater (top, main, and bottom heater) and this issue occurs on the bottom heater.

The broken SCR was discontinued , so we replaced it with a new unit with the same specifications and interface, smaller size dimension (space saving), low power consumption, easy to find in market. Besides installing this new unit, we also set up and recalibrated this new unit.

The result was that the machine was back to optimal performance with excellent heating performance.

This project involved upgrading 30-year-old electrical components, including PLCs, HMIs, cables, relays, and breakers. In addition, the programming system was updated, and several new features were added to enhance safety and meet production requirements.

This project presented unique challenges due to the age of the machine and the lack of documentation regarding its operation and related systems.

Action : Design a control system that has good redundancy standards, using the latest PLC and HMI models, more dynamic PLC programs (compatible for running with various types of products) and more interactive HMI program displays.
